I'm taking a little break for the holidays from sending y'all a track every day. Before I go, I'm leaving you with a nice little tune for the holidays, but not quite in the way you might know. The soundtrack to A Charlie Brown Christmas is indisputably the best Christmas album there ever was, and last year, a comprehensive "Super Deluxe" edition was released that had every take of every song (I assume). What makes this so special is that the jazz trio that performed the score did every take differently. Some takes were slightly different from the versions we know and love, and some were drastically different. This is Take 2 of the classic "Christmas is Coming" which I would describe as different enough to be noticable. If you grew up on this album, it's kind of like listening to a version of the song from a different dimension. In other words, something old, something new. Happy holidays to you and yours!!
